The rotating earpieces with soft ear pads allow easy one-ear monitoring and the adjustable, metal reinforced headband ensures excellent wearing comfort. Xone XD2-53s come in a stylish new gunmetal finish and feature a detachable coiled cable. Includes carrying pouch. Allen & Heath is known for building high quality mixers for the last 40-plus years. At any time of day or night, across the globe, there is an Allen & Heath mixer out there working hard, sounding great and making life a little easier for the person at the controls.
Impedance and Sensitivity
Impedance and sensitivity can speak to the wattage needed to output certain volume levels. Low impedance and high sensitivity headphones require less power and are better suited for small output devices like smartphones or MP3 players. The Allen & Heath Xone XD2-53 has a high impedance which may require an amp for best use.
A headphone’s frequency range represents the lowest and highest pitches that it can output.Considering that the human ear can only hear between 20 Hz – 20 kHz, the Allen & Heath Xone XD2-53 range of 5 Hz – 33 kHz is a little excessive.
Given the low bass frequencies and closed operating principle, this is a great set of headphones for bass heavy music such as dubstep or EDM.
This set of headphones produces sound with a neodymium magnet, a very strong commercial magnet, and the most common material for headphone speakers.
The diaphragm size is not necessarily a good indicator of sound quality, but is a factor in how well the headphones can produce low bass or high treble pitches. With a larger than average diameter of 2.1 in, the Allen & Heath Xone XD2-53 is better suited for playing bass than most other over-ear headphones.
Weight is simply a user preference and metric of portability. It does not indicate higher quality headphones as some brands add unnecessary weight to their models. With that in mind, know that the Allen & Heath Xone XD2-53 is slightly heavier than the average over-ear headphone.
3.5mm is the most common input for headphones and is what you see connecting with MP3 players, smartphones, and laptops.
